A Heart Of Gratitude – I’ll Praise You

Isaiah 25:1 Lord You are my God, I will exalt You and praise Your name; for in perfect faithfulness You have done wonderful things; things planned long ago.

This blog was inspired by Hillsongs song “Even When It Hurts” I’ve listened to this CD before, but the song never really resonated in my spirit until a month ago. It’s interesting how we can see, hear or read something over and over and only at specific times and seasons do certain words really sink in. It’s not a bad thing as each season holds it’s own revelation.

While I’m having a wonderful season, I was reminded of the journey. God has brought me through seasons of preparation, transition, warfare, rest, praise and victory. As this song finally sank into my hearts receiving bank, tears of gratitude started flowing as word after word were tattooed on my heart.

How kind of God to give me a love song that speaks of my journey. How kind of Him to remind me that I made it and in the toughest moments when all seemed lost, broken or scattered He always had a song in my heart whether spontaneous or recorded, He never left me without a lullaby of His love.

It was His journey I was on after all and He provided the nourishment. Word. Worship.

I learnt how to pray my season. I sought Him for scriptures I could stand on and I voiced them from joyful and broken lips. I recall being in a funky place and Him nudging me to just praise Him and while many times I didn’t feel like it, I’d whisper the songs, read the scriptures and speak His promises. It’s not about faking it till you make it, it’s about pressing through the uncomfortables of life with Him.

Psalm 150:6 let everything that has breathe praise the Lord!

Are you in a season of warfare? Praise Him. Worship centers our gaze upon the Lamb and off the battle. The battle field is not the place to quit

Are you in a season of waiting? Praise Him! Worship encourages your heart to keep waiting on Him as He never fails to deliver.

What is your season?

Psalm 71:8 My mouth is filled with Your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.

Look within, there is a song waiting to be sang, there always will be a song. Sometimes you’ve got to dance like David before the Lord. Sometimes, you’ve got be on your face before Abba. Sometimes you’ve to be still and wait upon Him till He shows up. Sometimes, silent prayers are more powerful than uttered words. No matter how you choose to worship Him…worship Him. Don’t be caught without a song on your lips, it encourages you plus, He delights in the fruits of our lips.

Be encouraged beloved. Stay in a place of worship even when you don’t feel like it…not faking till you make it but praising Father because He deserves our praise. One of the hardest lessons I had to learn to walk out, was trusting He really had it under control when everything spiraled out of control. Being still was hard, so hard but He was in the midst of the mess, He was righting the wrongs and straightening the crooked paths. He was planting seeds even though I couldn’t see them, He was ALWAYS, there never once leaving my side. I made it – so can you.

Praying for strength as you journey through your seasons. Praying for a song that will never leave your lips no matter how hard the wind blows. He’s got you my friend. Let me know if you need prayers, I’d be honored to partner with you.

I’ve shared the link for the song. May He quiet the storm long enough for you to hear His lullaby.
