22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”

23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men

Jesus rebuked Peter because He understood that only He could drink from the cup the Father had given Him to drink. Do not despise your journey, do not put away the cup you’ve been called to drink from, do not find shortcuts to destiny. God had a good reason for choosing you; for His will and purpose to accomplished in and through you. Do not be a “Peter” to others but encourage them, lift them up in prayer and if you don’t understand their season, pray and ask for wisdom.

Father, I pray for strength and perseverance to go through each season with grace. To accept the cup You have given us and drink from it knowing You have a plan and purpose for giving it to us. May we be yielded to You and be in complete surrender so Your perfect plan for us may be accomplished in us and the lives You’ve called us to touch. Thank You for the privilege to serve You Lord. Amen.
