For better or for worse.

This is an exciting milestone for many couples as they close the chapter of singlehood and start a new chapter of marriage.  ‘For better or for worse till death do us part” As these words are said love is bursting at the seams and forever is attainable by the starry eyed couple. They have a plan, a future full of love that will never run dry. That is amazing!

‘For better or for us.’ Isn’t that what Gods love for us is like? When we are good, His love is true and when we fail Him His love is true. His love and devotion to us does not waver. There are no good days or bad days with God because He is constant, present and always steadfast. We can count on Him through different seasons of our lives.

The best part of our relationship with God is that there is no ‘till death do us part’ because death will never diminish what He feels for us. Death will never take us away from Him. That deep love that consumes us with such fervency is unconditional, unbreakable and unshakable. As believers, having a bad day doesn’t put us in the ‘dog house’ with our Father. If anything, when you remember John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life and truly understand what the cross means to you, rising up from sin by repenting should draw us near to Him as He restores us to His righteousness.

For better or for worse I am His. For better or for worse I am loved. For better or for worse I am accepted. For better or for worse He is with me.  He will never leave me nor forsake me. He will always walk with me because I have chosen to make Jesus my Lord and my Savior.  My covenant with God will endure the worst when I remain focused on Him. I may have bad days but because nothing will snatch me out from His hand (John 10:28-29 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand), then I’m in for the long haul. I take comfort in His word so I will walk with Him and follow Him all the days of my life. AND….You can too.
